I have been using the Neti pot for about 9 months now, once per day. With a deviated septum I had difficulty breathing at night, and was using nose spray (Afrin ) to keep my sinuses clear. I was hooked on nose spray for 25 years believing that I didn't have any options. The surgery I had on my nose helped for about a month. I was thrilled to discover the neti pot. It did take some practice to use properly. At first, like others, I turned my head too far and got water in my ear. But I was determined to stick with it. The temperature of the water is important for comfort. I make it a little bit warmer than lukewarm. It is really very soothing. I mix my own solution using 1/4 tsp sea salt and 1/8 tsp per neti pot. This has worked great for me as I can now sleep at night without having to take something. The added bonus is that I can be around people that have colds and I don't catch it from them. I highly recommended this to anyone with sinus problems.

I've never actually tried the Neti Pot, but I have heard great things. It is a simple concept after all, and all you have to pay for is the pot itself and the salt that goes with it. Are you going to buy one yourself? Cheers! Heather :-)

My nose was so swollen and closed up from having really bad allergies. I have been using the neti for about a week now and I thank god for it because it helps to get all the gunk out of my nose and helps my breathing greatly. I found that if you plug onse nostril and blow you will get lots of preassure in your ear so make sure you blow all the water out of your nose with out holding either nostril closed until you can feel that you have blown it all out. When I blow I can hear my ears pop a little kinda like the water is going to my ears but I keep blowing till that goes away. I love the neti you just need to know how to get the water out the right way in order for it to not hurt your ears. Some peope may be experiancing dizzyness because of getting fluid into their ears. I had that problem before using the neti because my ears don't drain like there suppose to and since I had so much sinus drainage it was backing my ears up this causes virdigo or virtigo not sure of spelling. The neti helps me get all the gunk out before it gets to my ears.

I started using Neti Pot after being diagnosed with reoccurring sinus infections and three rounds of antibiotics not helping. I have problems with the ear pressure and pain, but it seems like it eventually clears up. However, I still have sinus pressure. AND I have never seen anything but the saline solution pouring out of my nostril. Am I doing it wrong? Or maybe my infection is so bad that it will take longer to start working? I have only used it for two days, three times a day.

Hello! I have been using a Neti Pot for about a year. It started with allergies. I live in Las Vegas, and my allergies from the dust and all the toxins from the big city had been bothering me. I am very much against using medication so I tried Neti pot after a friend from work recomended it.
after 1 use, I had the same symptoms as you.. water running into my ears, and my throat. The next day I felt dizzy, and off balance.. I even triped a lot! I asked my coworker about these symptoms, and he said to try doing cherry pickers. You know the excersize where you spread your legs about shoulder width, and reach through your legs as far back as you can, then stand up straight.. This was suggested along with any other thing (to include yoga) that tips your head upside down. Basically what you need to do is drain the water back OUT of your ear canal. It may take a while, depending on how small your canal is (mine is small so it took me a day or two) It might take you a few tries before you can get the whole technique down, but I swear by Neti pot too.. its and amazing thing!!

Just stick with it, and you'll find it just as awesome!

Thanks for the post, the neti pot is a great thing for sinus infections, allergies and the like. After continual use did you notice any improvements with breathing and what not?
