This morning, Kaveri held up a torn piece of toast covered in jam and asked if it would make a good painting.
Yes.
Also, on the Helvetica front, our five-dollar bill now has a big purple 5 on it. People don’t seem to like it. For me, I would like a bill with only a big purple five on it.

I like the 5, too, even if I still think it’s pretend money. I want all the bills to have big numbers in different colors, maybe like those letter and number magnets from our refrigerators in childhood.
A cashier in a deli told me that when she first saw the five, she gave it back to the customer and told them that they had been passed a counterfeit bill.
