I once got a full summers supply of ice cream by winning a bet regarding this Matisse painting. My ex Julia believed that it was impossible for it to be titled “la raie verte”. “La raie verte” translates to “Green stripe”, or “Green Crack”. She was convinced there was no way Matisse picked such a title because of the obvious butt reference. But he did. And Julia treated me for ice cream 14 times that summer. (We were in Italy)
